Impact Lipsey contributed season-high totals with 17 points and five steals. Through three games, the Cyclones have yet to play in a competitive game which has limited Lipsey's time on the floor. However, while his assist and rebounding totals have taken a slight dip thus far, Lipsey's improved his efficiency from the floor, shooting 52.2 percent this season on 7.7 attempts per contest after posting a 42.8 mark on 10.0 shots per game during last year's breakout. He's currently contributing 13.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 3.0 steals and 0.7 blocks across 27.7 minutes per contest.

The junior added a career-high two blocks to his traditional three steals while showing improved efficiency from the floor, scoring 16 points on seven shots after shooting just 42.8% last season. Lipsey was listed as a preseason honorable mention All-American candidate and a small leap in his scoring production this season would portend to big things for the Cyclones, who have their eyes set on a Big 12 title and are one of the favorites to make a trip to the Final Four.

Impact Lipsey was back to his usual disruptive self on Wednesday, leading Iowa State with five steals and 19 points along with matching the team lead with six boards. The 19 points represent a high-water mark for the sophomore in conference play while the five thefts were the most he's had in a game since Jan. 13 and the third time he's reached or surpassed that total this season. The standout sophomore point guard got off to an incredible start this season, averaging 15.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 3.6 steals while shooting nearly 50% from the field, 42.9% from three and maintaining a 2.8 assist-to-turnover ratio. However, he's struggled since the start of conference play with those numbers dipping to 10.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.2 steals with a 34.2% field-goal percentage and 30.2% mark from beyond the arc. Iowa State has one of the best guard trios in all of college basketball and a return to form for Lipsey in time for tournament action would legitimize their candidacy as a true Final Four threat.

Impact Lipsey did not play in last Saturday's game against TCU due to a shoulder injury. Getting the star point guard back for this matchup with the Wildcats would be huge. Lipsey has been fantastic this season averaging 14.5 points, 5.6 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 3.4 steals per contest. Curtis Jones would likely go back to the bench in Lipsey is active.

Impact Lipsey has been a revelation this season for Iowa State as the only player in the country to average more than 14 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals, currently ranking second in the nation to FIU's Arturo Dean with 3.4 steals per game. As expected, the start of Big 12 play has brought about a greater challenge for Lipsey and his numbers have taken a hit, mainly due to a four-point effort against Oklahoma to open the conference slate. Since then, while his rebounding and assist totals have dipped slightly, he's picked things back up with 31 points over his last couple of games. Additionally, after beginning conference play with his first two games of the season with less than two thefts, Lipsey rebounded with a five-steal effort Saturday against Oklahoma State.

He's particularly elite in formats that value steals, as he's recorded three or more in 11 consecutive games, and his 3.6 spg average is the second best mark in the entire country. On top of the thefts, the biggest chance for Lipsey from last season has been outside shooting, as he's now converting 1.6 three-pointers per contest at an efficient success rate of 42.9 percent. Likely a later pick in fantasy drafts, Lipsey has the makings of a league-winning selection.
