Jase Bauer - Leaving Sam Houston Bauer will enter the transfer portal, he announced via his personal X account.

Impact Bauer saw limited snaps in 2024, replacing Hunter Watson when the starting gunslinger was injured or entering the game for mop-up duty. All told, he tossed for 310 yards, two touchdowns and one interception while completing 61.5 percent of his passes. The former Central Michigan Chippewa will now seek his third program, where he should have one year of eligibility remaining.

Impact Well this is surprising. Last season, Smith was the focal point of Sam Houston's offense. He had over 750 yards and six touchdowns through the air, but also over 100 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. This season, though, he came into this game with 31 touches and 230 yards total.

Jay Ducker - Held to 43 yards rushing Ducker ran 11 times for 43 yards against JSU on Saturday.

Impact Ducker did eke over 600 yards on the season, and given the fact he basically missed two seasons with injury that's a good thing, but these numbers were a little lacking. He'll still be the lead back against Liberty in a big conference game to close the regular season, though.

Hunter Watson - Runs well, throws poorly Watson went 13-for-25 for 84 yards against JSU on Saturday, but ran 21 times for 105 yards and a touchdown.

Impact Watson is a run-first quarterback, and 100 yards and a touchdown is strong on that front. However, Sam Houston could have used more than 84 passing yards in a loss to JSU that really hurts its conference title hopes.

Hunter Watson - Rushes for two TDs Watson went 22-for-32 for 179 yards and an interception against KSU on Saturday. He also ran 15 times for 62 yards and two touchdowns.

Impact This is the third time this season Watson has failed to throw a touchdown by ran for two scores. Those also happen to be his only six rushing scores on the season. Watson has helped pilot the Bearkats to an 8-2 record, so it's working for his team, even if for fantasy purposes sometimes things feel lacking.

Hunter Watson - Injury revealed Watson suffered a shoulder injury during Sam Houston's 9-3 win Tuesday against Louisiana Tech, Colton Foster of The Huntsville Item reports.

Impact Watson, who suffered an injury to his non-throwing shoulder, did not play again Tuesday after logging 14 passes for 146 yards and one interception against Louisiana Tech. The right-handed quarterback also recorded 11 carries for 16 yards and one fumble.
