GAME LOG

Tallies 31 carries in Week 14 win Monangai notched 31 carries for 129 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 41-14 victory versus Michigan State.
Impact Monangai carried the Rutgers offense like never before as he set a new career-high for rushing attempts for the second week in a row. The 5-foot-9 senior came through with his most rushing yards since Week 5 against Washington, and put the Scarlet Knights on the board in the first quarter with his 13th rushing touchdown of the season. In 11 appearances this regular season, Monangai totaled career-highs in carries (256), rushing yards (1,279) and rushing touchdowns. The bell-cow back should be in line to lead the 7-5 Scarlet Knights' ground game one last time during the team's TBA bowl game. However, should he sit out for any reason, then true freshman Antwan Raymond should step up as RB1 after tallying nine carries for 71 yards and two touchdowns of his own Week 14.

Totals 145 yards Week 13 Monangai totaled 28 carries for 122 yards and caught three of five targets for 23 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 38-31 defeat versus Illinois.
Impact Monangai rushed for over 100 yards for the first time since Week 8 while also logging season-high in receiving yards and his first receiving touchdown of the season. The 5-foot-9 senior's career-high 28 carries also helped to etch him in the program history books, as he became the third running back in Rutgers history to rush for over 3,000 career yards. Across 10 appearances this season, Monangai has logged 1,150 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns. He'll have a good chance to surpass his previous career high for rushing yards in a season during next week's finale against Michigan State.
NOVEMBER 24 • ROTOWIRE
Logs 25 carries in return Week 12 Monangai had 25 rushes for 97 yards and two touchdowns and caught their only target for three yards during Saturday's 31-17 victory versus Maryland.
Impact Monangai reprised his bell-cow role after missing last week's win against Minnesota with a head injury. The senior running back actually logged over 20 carries for the first time since Week 5, and he scored on touchdowns of two and six yards. He also surpassed 1,000 rushing yards on the season and increased his touchdown total to 12 through nine games. Over the final two games against Illinois and Michigan State, Monangai should have a solid chance to overtake his career-high 1,262 rushing yards that he set last season.

Athan Kaliakmanis threw two touchdown passes, Kyle Monangai scored twice on the ground and Rutgers became bowl eligible with a 31-17 victory over Maryland

Starting vs. Terps Monangai (head) is starting for Rutgers against Maryland, Chris Iseman of the Asbury Park Press reports.
Impact Monangai was listed as questionable, and then seen warming up, so it comes as little surprise that the tailback will be available. After missing last week against Minnesota, the star ball-carrier will make his return. Monangai - who has 931 yards and 10 touchdowns this fall - should resume his role as the bell cow back for Rutgers.
NOVEMBER 16 • ROTOWIRE
In uniform for warmups Monangai (head) is in uniform and warming up ahead of Saturday's game versus Maryland, Brian Fonseca of The Star-Ledger reports.
Impact Monongai held a questionable tag on the injury report leading up to Saturday's contest, but his presence in uniform during warmups is certainly a tally in the direction of the star back suiting up. Mononagai enters the day with 172 carries fo 931 yards and 10 touchdowns and could go over the 1,000-yard rushing mark Saturday if available.
NOVEMBER 16 • ROTOWIRE
Officially deemed questionable Monangai (head) is listed as questionable ahead of Saturday's matchup with Maryland.
Impact Monangai missed last week's contest after suffering a concussion in Week 9 against USC. If the senior Monangai can't go, Antwan Raymond would likely lead the Scarlet Knights' backfield again.
NOVEMBER 16 • ROTOWIRE
Out versus Minnesota Monangai (head) is out for Saturday's game versus Minnesota, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Monangai will miss his first game of the season Saturday after suffering a head injury in Week 9 at USC. The senior has rushed 172 times for 931 yards and 10 touchdowns this season so his absence will obviously be a big blow for the Scarlet Knights. Antwan Raymond is expected to lead the backfield in Monangai's absence.
NOVEMBER 9 • ROTOWIRE
Won't get update until gameday Monangai (head) won't get an injury update until the Big Ten availability report is released two hours prior to kickoff on Saturday against Minnesota, Patrick Lanni of NJ.com repor...
Impact Monangai left Rutgers' game against USC with a head injury in the third quarter and did not return. Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano refused to provide an update on the start tailback, instead directing reporters to the conference's injury report that drops two hours prior to kickoff. Thus, we won't know Monangai's status until Saturday.
NOVEMBER 4 • ROTOWIRE
Exits versus USC Monangai exited Saturday's matchup with a head injury, per Chris Trevino of 247Sports.
Impact Monangai had carried the ball 18 for 86 yards and caught three passes for 14 yards before leaving the game in the third quarter. In his absence, Antwan Raymond took over as the teams lead back, and Monangai will look to make his return versus Minnesota following the team's upcoming bye week.
OCTOBER 26 • ROTOWIRE
Will be available Friday Monangai (undisclosed) will be available for Friday's game against USC, Brian Edwards of Southeastern 16 reports.
Impact Monangai will be available for Friday's game, but his role is yet to be determined. Since Ja'shon Benjamin was taking reps with the first offense in warmups, there's a chance Monangai will begin the game in a backup role.

OCTOBER 25 • ROTOWIRE
Taking handoffs with second offense Monangai (undisclosed) is warming up with the second offense and could feature in a backup role in Friday's game against USC, Brian Fonseca of NJ Advanced Media reports.
Impact Monangai seems to be active since he's warming up in full pads, but given that he's with the second offense, that might indicate he won't start. Instead, it seems Ja'shon Benjamin will open the game in a starting role, as he was taking handoffs from the first offense shortly before the 11 ET p.m. kick-off.
OCTOBER 25 • ROTOWIRE
Warming up for Friday's game Monangai (undisclosed) is warming up ahead of Friday's contest against USC, Luca Evans of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact Monangai's status for this game is unofficial, but he's certainly trending in the right direction after being spotted during warmups and in full pads. Monangai is coming off a huge performance in the 35-32 loss to UCLA on Oct. 19, notching 19 carries for 106 yards and three touchdowns.
OCTOBER 25 • ROTOWIRE
Questionable for Friday Monangai (undisclosed) is questionable for Friday's game against USC.
Impact Monangai is coming off a huge performance in the 35-32 loss to UCLA on Oct. 19, notching 19 carries for 106 yards and three touchdowns, and if he's out, then Rutgers would have to alter their rushing gameplan. Antwan Raymond and Ja'shon Benjamin are next in line in case Monangai can't feature Friday.
OCTOBER 25 • ROTOWIRE
Scores three times in loss Monangai notched 19 carries for 106 yards and three touchdowns and caught 1 of 2 targets for four yards during Saturday's 35-32 defeat against UCLA.
Impact Monangai got exactly 19 carries for the third week in a row, but he eclipsed 100 rushing yards for the first time over this span. The senior running back scored twice in the fourth quarter, including a one-yard touchdown that pulled the score to 35-32. Monangai also tied his season-high for rushing touchdowns, increasing his season total to 10 through seven games. He'll look to record over 100 rushing yards again during next week's road game at USC.
OCTOBER 20 • ROTOWIRE
Dressed and warming up Saturday Monangai (undisclosed) is dressed and warming up ahead of Saturday's game versus UCLA, Brian Fonseca of The Star Ledger reports.
Impact Monangai is participating in pregame warmups ahead of Saturday's contest, a great sign for his availability versus the Bruins. While it does not guarantee he will play, he is certainly trending in the right direction.
OCTOBER 19 • ROTOWIRE
Listed as questionable Monangai (undisclosed) is listed as questionable for Rutgers' clash with UCLA.
Impact The star tailback popped up on the injury report prior to Rutgers' critical homecoming game against the Bruins. Monangai has been one of the best tailbacks in the Big Ten this season, amassing 739 yards and seven touchdowns. Antwan Raymond would likely become RB1 if Monangai indeed can't go.
OCTOBER 19 • ROTOWIRE
Contained by Badgers Monangai had 19 carries for 72 yards and one touchdown and gathered in one of two targets for five yards during Saturday's 42-7 defeat against Wisconsin.
Impact Monangai fell below 80 rushing yards for the second week in a row as the Rutgers offense once again failed to produce anything in the way of a complementary offense, as quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis went 12-for-32 passing for 103 yards. Monangai has still been a the centerpiece of the Scarlet Knights' offense with 19 carries in each of the past two games. His workload should only increase after No. 2 running back Samuel Brown went down with a seemingly significant leg injury Saturday. Monangai should have a much easier path to eclipse 100 rushing yards during Week 8's home game versus UCLA.
OCTOBER 13 • ROTOWIRE
Finally stymied in loss Monangai logged 19 carries for 78 yards and gathered in two of three targets for 18 yards during Saturday's 14-7 defeat versus Nebraska.
Impact Monangai was truly hemmed in and failed to score a touchdown for the first time this season. The senior running back still carried a heavy workload, but the Scarlet Knights were forced to drop back far more than they would have liked while coming back from a 14-0 deficit in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis completed 15 of 37 passing attempts for 186 yards, and it was clear that the team's offense could not function without a strong performance by Monangai. Rutgers will will look to stick to its game script better during this coming Saturday's home game versus a Wisconsin defense that has been uncharacteristically week stopping the run this season.
OCTOBER 6 • ROTOWIRE
Pounds his way to 132 yards Monangai logged 25 rushes for 132 yards and one touchdown and caught their only target for five yards during Friday's 21-18 victory against Washington.
Impact Monangai mauled his way to over 100 rushing yards for the third time through four games. The 5-foot-9 senior scored the first touchdown of the game with a one-yard score early in the second quarter, and he has now logged a rushing score for five games in a row dating back to last year. He also commanded the bulk of carries in the rushing game even with Samuel Brown back in the lineup for the second week in a row, as the latter logged just five carries for 44 yards and one touchdown. Monangai has now totaled 97 carries for 589 yards and six touchdowns through four games. He'll look to put up another dominant performance during next week's road game at Nebraska, though he'll likely be going up against his toughest opposing defense of the season.

Monangai runs for 132 yards and a TD, Rutgers holds off Washington 21-18

Kyle Monangai ran for 132 yards and a touchdown and Rutgers held off Washington 21-18 on Friday night when Huskies kicker Grady Gross missed a 55-yard attempt as time expired
SEPTEMBER 28 • ASSOCIATED PRESS
Smaller output versus VA Tech Monangai notched 26 carries for 84 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 26-23 victory against Virginia Tech.
Impact Monangai continued to carry a massive workload for the Scarlet Knights' ground-and-pound offense. The 209-pound senior had a tougher time against the Hokies than he did in the previous two outings against Howard and Akron. He got Rutgers on the board with a one-yard touchdown plunge in the first quarter, but he was subbed out for the team's other two rushing touchdowns -- both of which went to No. 2 running back Samuel Brown. Monangai also failed to eclipse 100 rushing yards after doing so in his previous four games extending back to last season. He'll look to return to his dominant form during this coming Friday's matchup versus Washington, which allowed just 59 yards on 26 rushing attempts against Northwestern in Week 4.
SEPTEMBER 22 • ROTOWIRE
Monster game again Week 2 Monangai notched 27 rushes for 208 yards and three touchdowns and hauled in their only target for three yards during Saturday's 49-17 victory over Akron.
Impact Monangai built upon his impressive Week 1 outing with a career-high rushing output Saturday. He also logged nine more carries than Week 1, as it seems he had a larger workload with No. 2 running back Samuel Brown (undisclosed) sidelined versus Akron. Monangai also matched his career-high for touchdowns in a game, moving his season total to four. The first two games of the seaosn have come against clearly inferior opponents for the Scarlet Knights. Nevertheless, Monangai has been undeniably dominant in these outings, as his 373 rushing yards through the first two weeks sits behind only Boise State's Ashton Jeanty (459) for the most in college football this season. The Scarlet Knight's 209-pound running back will look to keep this dominance rolling Week 3 at Virginia Tech -- a team that he totaled 143 rushing yards on 16 carries against last season.
