Impact Skillings has started his return to practice after undergoing a knee procedure earlier this month, participating in a shootaround drill and running on the treadmill Monday. The 6-foot-6 junior, who logged 17 points and 11 rebounds in Cincinatti's season opener against UAPB, appears unlikely to return Wednesday against Alabama State given his current workload, but he continues to work through his recover timeline.

Jizzle James - Continues to excel as starter James racked up 14 points (7-13 FG, 0-5 3Pt), two rebounds, seven assists, one block and two steals in 29 minutes during Saturday's 81-58 victory over Georgia Tech.
Impact James scored 14 points despite not connecting on a three-pointer for the first time this season. He also dished out seven assists while committing only one turnover, marking the third time in five games he's posted six or more assists while turning the ball over two or fewer times. James continues to hold onto the starting spot with Day Day Thomas coming off the bench as the latter ramps back up following missing the first three games this season due to a foot injury. However, even when Thomas is back up to full strength, it's tough to see how he can surpass James in the starting lineup. James has been fantastic this season, posting 14.0 points (53.4 percent), 5.8 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals across 27.2 minutes and perhaps most importantly has turned the ball over just 1.8 times per game, giving him an assist:turnover ratio of better than 3:1.

Impact Fredrick suffered the injury diving for a loose ball in Tuesday's victory over Northern Kentucky, reaggravating the same ankle he injured against Nicholls the week before. Despite the injuries, the senior guard is expected to practice with the team Thursday and the Cincinnati coaching staff will hope to learn more about the severity of the injury in that time. The 6-foot-3 former Kentucky transfer averaged four points per game across the first two contests of the season before suffering his initial injury against Nicholls and will hope for a fast recovery to return to action in time for Saturday's matchup against Georgia Tech.

Getting Skillings back early would be a huge boost for Cincinnati, though Miller did mention that a return next week is far from a guarantee. Skillings' status will be worth monitoring moving forward.
