It's an injury Yelich has dealt with off and on for several years and the hope is that he'll be able to put his back issues behind him after this. Impact Yelich was placed on the 10-day injured list July 24 due to low-back inflammation, which has been an issue for him over the past few seasons. He was focused on rest and rehab since landing on the IL, but due to a lack of progress in his recovery, the three-time All Star has elected to undergo surgery and shift his focus to being 100% healthy for 2025.
