GAME LOG

Throws for 130 yards in loss Locke was 15-for-32 passing for 130 yards and one touchdown during Friday's 24-7 loss against Minnesota.
Impact Locke completed under 60 percent of his passes for the fifth time in the last six games, and he logged his second-lowest completion percentage of the season. The redshirt sophomore didn't score a touchdown until he hit wideout Vinny Anthony in the end zone for a 15-yard score late in the third quarter. The lone bright spot on Locke's final stat sheet was that he did not throw a turnover for the first time since his season debut Week 3 versus Alabama. With the Badgers now eliminated from bowl contention, Locke finishes his 2024 campaign with a 55.4 completion percentage for 1,936 yards and 13 touchdowns to 10 interceptions. With the Badgers still looking for a new offensive coordinator to replace Phil Longo, it's unclear if or how Locke will figure into Wisconsin's future plans at quarterback moving forward.

Throws three TDs in loss Locke completed 20 of 30 passes for 292 yards, three touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 44-25 loss against Nebraska.
Impact Locke had his best outing since the 52-3 win against Purdue in Week 6. The redshirt junior got to air the ball out as the Badgers fought to come back from a 27-10 halftime deficit. Locke found 6-foot-3 wideout Bryson on two jump-ball passes into the end zone before once again going long to speedster Vinny Anthony for a 58-yard score in the fourth quarter. The redshirt junior quarterback's lone interception came on a ball that hit his receiver in the hands before bouncing up into the air. Locke's performance was somewhat surprising considering that the Badgers moved on from offensive coordinator Phil Longo earlier in the week. He'll look to do whatever he has to do to get a win and secure a bowl berth for the Badgers in this Friday's regular-season finale versus Minnesota.

Logs 96 passing yards in loss Locke was 12-for-28 passing for 96 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Saturday's 16-13 loss against Oregon.
Impact Locke couldn't move the ball for most of the game against the Ducks. While he was facing a tough defense, the redshirt sophomore continuously showed his shortcomings with off-target throws and overall poor quarterback play. Half of Locke's passing yards came on a 43-yard completion to deep-threat wideout Vinny Anthony down the left sideline in the second quarter. This big play set up the Badgers' lone touchdown on a two-yard screen to wideout Will Pauling just before halftime. But, Locke ultimately cost his team throughout the game, culminating on the team's final offensive series when he threw a pass that was tipped at the line of scrimmage and intercepted to end the game. Locke has now thrown at least one interception in all seven of his starts this season, and he's averaged 208.0 passing yards while completing 55.8 percent of his passes over that span.

Throws two picks against Iowa Locke was 15-for-29 passing for 137 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions during Saturday's 42-10 loss versus Iowa. He also had five rushes for 20 yards.
Impact Locke hit rock bottom after back-to-back disappointing outings against Northwestern and Penn State over the previous two games. After throwing a back-breaking pick-six in last week's loss to the Nittany Lions, the redshirt sophomore logged two more bad interceptions against the Hawkeyes' swarming defense. He has now totaled nine touchdowns to eight turnovers across his six starts this season, and he's thrown an interception in each of these contents. Locke's back-to-back poor performances have come against a pair of elite defenses, but that certainly doesn't spell much optimism heading into the Badgers' next game versus No. 1-ranked Oregon on Saturday, Nov. 16.
NOVEMBER 3 • ROTOWIRE
Throws bad interception in loss Locke was 22-for-42 passing for 217 yards and one interception during Saturday's 28-13 defeat to Penn State.
Impact Locke fell flat after three straight encouraging outing in the Badgers resurgent offense. The redshirt junior threw a back-breaking pick six while backed up on his own goal line in the second half, and the Badgers couldn't come back after falling behind 14-10. With RB1 Tawee Walker limited to just 59 rushing yards on 22 carries, Locke had to work without the support of a complementary rushing game, resulting in his most passing attempts and his lowest yards per attempt (5.2) of any of his five starts this season. He has also tallied eight touchdowns to seven turnovers over this span. Locke will likely have to raise his game for the Badgers to get a win on the road against a tough Iowa defense next week.

Impact Locke continued his turnover-prone play with two turnovers, increasing his total to six across four starts this season. The redshirt sophomore has still been a slight net positive with multiple touchdowns in his last three starts. Locke has also completed 65.1 percent of his passes for 253.0 yards per game over this span. But, this was against three of the worst teams in the Big Ten, and he'll face a mich different opponent when No. 3 Penn State heads to Camp Randall this coming Saturday. He'll likely need to clean up this recurring turnover issue in order for the Badgers to pull off the upset.

Keeps it rolling in Piscataway Locke was 20-for-28 passing for 240 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Saturday's 42-7 victory versus Rutgers. He also had three rushes for six yards with one touchdo...
Impact Locke had perhaps the best overall outing of his career when considering the opponent and setting. The redshirt sophomore completed over 70 percent of his passes for the first time in his career, which includes eight games in which he's seen significant action over the past two years. Locke still took continuous risks with the ball, including on a pick when he made a poor decision to push the ball deep down the field in the first quarter. Nevertheless, he showed strong command of the offense, and he got into the end zone for a one-yard score with just under five minutes left, marking the first rushing touchdown of his career. Locke will look to keep building upon his back-to-back prolific performances when the Badgers head back on the road to face Northwestern in Week 8.

Lights up Purdue in win Locke was 20-for-31 passing for 359 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions during Saturday's 52-6 victory against Purdue.
Impact Locke bounced back after last week's second-half collapse against USC with a career-best outing against a reeling Purdue squad. The redshirt junior was choppy to start with two interceptions in the first half. But, he settled in and started connecting with the Badgers' most-explosive playmakers, first finding wideout Vinny Anthony over the middle of the field for a runaway 52-yard touchdown. Locke then connected on touchdowns passes of 69 and 25 yards to sophomore Trech Kekahuna in the second half. The signal-caller finished with the seventh-most single-game passing yards in Wisconsin history. However, this was still against probably the worst team in the Big Ten this season. He'll face a much stiffer defense during next week's road game at Rutgers.

Up-and-down in first start of 2024 Locke was 13-for-26 passing for 180 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Saturday's 38-21 defeat to USC.
Impact Locke got out to a 21-10 lead in his first start in place of Tyler Van Dyke (knee-ACL). The redshirt sophomore went 6-for-11 passing for 130 yards in the first half, including a 63-yard touchdown to Vinny Anthony and a 35-yard completion on another go-ball for Bryson Green. But, Locke and the Badgers' offense then completely fell flat, getting outscored 28-0 in the second half. They hit rock bottom when one of Locke's passes was deflected up into the air downfield and was intercepted by linebacker Mason Cobb for a 55-yard pick-six. Aside from two deep passes in the first half, Locke showed no significant improvements from his near-full game performance after Van Dyke was injured against Alabama two weeks ago. Locke and the Badgers' offense will look to pick things back up when they welcome 1-3 Purdue to Camp Randall this coming Saturday.

Up to QB1 for Saturday Locke is listed as QB1 for Wisconsin's game Saturday at USC, Colten Bartholomew of The Wisconsin State Journal reports.
Impact Tyler Van Dyke suffered a torn ACL during Week 3, putting him out of action for the remainder of Wisconsin's 2024 season. In stepped Locke against Alabama, and he was alright with 13 completions for 125 yards and one touchdown without any turnovers. After a week to make up their mind, the Badgers have seemingly confirmed that Locke will be their QB1, though a more definitive decision may come down the line.

Steps in for injured starter Locke was 13-for-26 passing for 125 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 42-10 defeat to Alabama.
Impact Locke replaced injured starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke, who was carted to the locker room early in the first quarter with an unspecified lower body injury. This was not the first time that the Badgers' QB2 had to step up in a pinch, as he also started three games last year when Tanner Mordecai was sidelined with injury. However, this starting experience didn't do Locke much good Saturday, as he often looked overwhelmed versus the Crimson Tide's dominating defensive front. Badgers coach Luke Fickell said postgame that "it doesn't look good" for Van Dyke, who is slated to undergo an MRI, according to him. As a result, Locke should be set to take over the starting moving forward once again. Wisconsin will have a week off before traveling to USC on Sept. 28.

Backup to start season Locke will be the backup to quarterback Tyler Van Dyke to start the 2024 season, Rohan Chakravarthi of Bucky's 5th Quarter reports.
Impact The 6-foot sophomore was battling it out with Van Dyke all the way up until the end of July, but it was evident in Sunday's scrimmage that Van Dyke would get the edge and ultimately become the starter. Locke saw the field in five games during the 2023 season and proved with 777 yards passing, five touchdowns and one interception that he could still assume the position under center especially with the volatile nature of the Wisconsin quarterback position in the recent years.

No first-team reps Sunday Locke handled no first-team reps Sunday, Zach Heilprin of 1670AM The Zone Madison reports.
Impact All of Wisconsin's first-team reps were handled by Tyler Van Dyke, who is expected to be UW's primary quarterback to begin 2024. Locke getting dropped was expected more than not, especially considering Van Dyke's experience and offseason output. For a second straight year, Locke will back up another QB, and it could be tougher for him to replicate his 2023 output unless Van Dyke physically struggles or becomes unavailable.
