Optioned back to OKC The Dodgers optioned Miller to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Impact The move comes one day after another poor start which saw Miller surrender four runs on seven hits and a walk across two innings against the Marlins. He's managed an ugly 8.52 ERA and 1.77 WHIP in a horribly disappointing 2024 campaign. The Dodgers have not yet announced who will be taking Miller's spot in the rotation.
SEPTEMBER 18 • ROTOWIRE
Struggles continue vs. Marlins Miller allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk across two innings in a no-decision against Miami. He struck out two.
Impact It was another rough outing for Miller -- the right-hander's now allowed 17 runs across 11.1 innings in his last three starts. His ERA is up to an ugly 8.52 on the year with a 1.77 WHIP and 52:30 K:BB across 56 innings. Miller would currently line up for a home start next week against the Padres, should the Dodgers elect to give him another look in the rotation.

Another ugly outing Miller did not factor into the decision in a win over the Cubs on Wednesday, allowing six runs on five hits and four walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out two.
Impact Miller got knocked around early, issuing back-to-back walks, followed by back-to-back singles with two outs in the first inning. He would surrender two runs in the frame before then going on to give up two long balls between the third and fifth innings. It marked Miller's second-consecutive start in which he allowed at least six runs and he's now given up multiple home runs in five of his last six outings. The right-hander's ERA now sits at an atrocious 8.17 for the season.
SEPTEMBER 12 • ROTOWIRE
Yields three homers Miller (2-4) allowed seven runs on five hits and three walks while striking out eight over five innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Angels.
Impact Miller yielded a season-high three home runs, including Mickey Moniak's three-run blast in the first inning. This was the worst of Miller's four starts since he returned to the majors in mid-August. He's now at a 7.79 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 48:25 K:BB over 49.2 innings through 11 starts this year. He is reportedly pitching through a left knee issue, but it's not expected to cost him time. He's tentatively projected to make his next start at home versus the Cubs, though Miller could lose his spot on the 28-man roster to Yoshinobu Yamamoto (triceps) when the latter makes his return to action Tuesday.

Managing knee issue Miller revealed after Friday's win over the Orioles that he's been dealing with a left knee issue, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Impact Miller tweaked the knee during the second inning but remained in the game and got through five frames while allowing three runs. The righty said it's something he can manage for the rest of the season, so it doesn't appear at this point that he's in danger of missing any time. Miller holds a 5.74 ERA and 13:4 K:BB over 15.2 innings covering three starts since rejoining the Dodgers' rotation earlier this month.
AUGUST 30 • ROTOWIRE
Picks up second win Miller (2-3) earned the win over the Orioles on Thursday, allowing three runs on two hits and three walks over 5 innings. He struck out three.
Impact Miller kept the Orioles off the scoreboard through the first four innings despite issuing two walks in the third, producing three strikeouts over that stretch. He began to stumble in the fifth, however, hitting Eloy Jimenez with a pitch to open the frame before coughing up a three-run shot to Colton Cowser four batters later. The right-hander would not return for the sixth, though he was still able to notch his first win since Mar. 29 against the Cardinals. Miller has now gone five or more innings in each of his last two starts, though he's surrendered at least three runs in four straight. Thursday also marked the sixth time in his last eight outings that he walked three or more batters.

AUGUST 29 • KANSASCITY.COM
Turns in quality start Miller allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out nine without walking a batter over six innings, taking a no-decision versus the Rays on Friday.
Impact Miller wasn't great last Saturday in St. Louis in his return to the majors, but he was a little better Friday. His nine strikeouts were his most since his season debut, and this was also his second quality start in nine outings. Miller is now at a 7.49 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 37:19 K:BB through 39.2 innings. The right-hander is tentatively projected for a home start versus the Orioles next week and will likely stay in the rotation until one of Yoshinobu Yamamoto (triceps) or Tyler Glasnow (elbow) is ready to return. Yamamoto, who is on the 60-day injured list, is expected to begin a rehab assignment next week, while Glasnow has yet to resume throwing after landing on the IL on Aug. 16, so Miller certainly has a chance to get a longer look in the majors.
AUGUST 24 • ROTOWIRE
Receiving another start Miller is scheduled to start Friday's game against the Rays at Dodger Stadium.
Impact At least while Tyler Glasnow (elbow) and Yoshinobu Yamamoto (tricep) are on the injured list, the Dodgers are opting to keep Miller in the rotation as their No. 5 starter over Justin Wrobleski, who was optioned to Triple-A over the weekend. Miller returned from Triple-A to make his first start for the Dodgers since July 9 this past Saturday, when he took a loss to the Cardinals. The command and control problems that plagued Miller when he was up with the Dodgers earlier this season reared their head again in St. Louis, as he was charged with four earned runs on eight hits and one walk while also throwing four wild pitches. Even with a relatively favorable matchup on tap against the Rays at home, Miller's recent form makes it difficult to stream him with much confidence.
AUGUST 22 • ROTOWIRE
Inefficient in loss Miller (1-3) took the loss against the Cardinals on Saturday, allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk over 4.2 innings while striking out one.
Impact Miller struggled with his command from the jump, allowing singles to two of the first three batters he faced in the contest before throwing two wild pitches in the opening frame. The right-hander would then fail to retire the leadoff man in three of his next four innings of work while also coughing up two homers on the night. Miller has been unable to make it through five innings in either of his last two starts (with the previous one coming back on July 9), giving up multiple homers on each occasion. On a positive note, Saturday marked the first time in his last eight outings that Miller didn't walk multiple batters, though he did throw four wild pitches.

AUGUST 17 • CHARLOTTEOBSERVER.COM
Officially recalled Miller was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to his start Saturday against the Cardinals.
Impact Miller hasn't necessarily been pitching well at Triple-A, logging a 5.54 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and as many walks (11) as strikeouts in 13 innings over his last three starts. The Dodgers are searching for answers at the back of the rotation, so if he pitches well, he'll stick up, but some more shaky outings could lead to Miller heading back to Triple-A.
AUGUST 17 • ROTOWIRE
Will start Saturday Miller will be recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start Saturday's game against the Cardinals, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact With Tyler Glasnow (elbow) on the injured list, the Dodgers will officially call upon Miller to fill the gap in their rotation. However, the 25-year-old righty has performed poorly in the majors this season (8.07 ERA and 1.83 WHIP), so there's no guarantee that he'll continue serving as Glasnow's replacement past Saturday.
AUGUST 17 • ROTOWIRE
Expected to join big club Saturday Manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Miller will likely be recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Impact Tyler Glasnow is currently in line to start Saturday's game against the Cardinals and doesn't appear to be dealing with any injuries, so Miller will presumably be used out of the bullpen once he rejoins the big-league roster. The 25-year-old has accumulated an 8.07 ERA and 1.83 WHIP across 29 innings in the majors this year, and he's given up eight runs in 13 frames since being moved to Triple-A on July 10.
AUGUST 16 • ROTOWIRE
Scratched from start Thursday Miller was scratched from his scheduled start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Impact DiGiovanna notes that Miller could be called up and start for the Dodgers in Friday's game against the Cardinals in place of left-hander Justin Wrobleski. Miller started the season with the big club, but he was sent down to the minors right before the All-Star break after posting a 1-2 record over seven starts with a 8.07 ERA and 1.83 WHIP across 29 innings. Over his last three starts in Triple-A, he's posted a 5.54 ERA and 1.69 WHIP across 13 frames.
AUGUST 16 • ROTOWIRE
Making start at Triple-A on Friday Miller (adductor) will start for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday versus Round Rock, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Impact Miller had to be scratched from his last scheduled outing for Oklahoma City due to adductor tightness, but he will wind up missing just one turn. The right-hander allowed six runs (five earned) on six hits and three walks over just 3.2 innings in his last start for OKC on July 27. Miller will probably need to string together at least a couple nice outings in order for the Dodgers to considering re-inserting him into their rotation.
AUGUST 7 • ROTOWIRE
Scratched from start Friday Miller was scratched from his scheduled start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday due adductor tightness, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Impact Miller felt tightness following his bullpen session earlier in the week. After struggling in the majors this season, Miller was optioned to Oklahoma City on July 10. He's been inconsistent since being sent down to the minors, and in his last outing July 27, he walked away with the no decision after allowing six runs (five earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out one across 3.2 innings.
AUGUST 2 • ROTOWIRE
Hanging around Triple-A Miller is expected to make at least one more start with Triple-A Oklahoma City, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Impact Miller was optioned to Triple-A on July 10 after struggling to a 9.87 ERA over four starts following a two-month stretch on the injured list with right shoulder inflammation. The 25-year-old threw five scoreless innings against Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday, allowing three hits and four walks while striking out four batters. It's unclear how long Miller could remain in the minors, but manager Dave Roberts said Monday that Miller will "absolutely" return to the major-league roster at some point down the road.
